There are a broad range of administrative support positions within the Government of Alberta. Administrative functions are essential for the delivery of government programs and services that are available to Albertans. Typical activities at the Administrative Support 3 level can include: office reception, data entry, preparing and reviewing documentation, correspondence, filing and records management, and mail administration. Some positions require more specialized knowledge in financial (accounting) administration or contract administration. Unique work opportunities can include working in a court setting, a jail environment, or on the front-line providing services to members of the public.
Your excellent customer service skills and professionalism will enable you to be successful in our dymanic work environments. Combine the above with creative problem solving skills, adaptibility, and relationship-building skills and you will find success in any role you take on in this fast paced environment. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel, along with excellent keyboarding and data entry skills are essential.
Please note that for this general Administrative Support 3 competition there isn't a particular position that you are applying for. If your application is successful, you will be placed on an eligibility list which is a referral database that government departments can access when filling permanent or temporary positions in various administrative capacities across the Government of Alberta.

High school diploma plus one year of related experience. Equivalencies will be considered.
$1437.35 to $1749.11 bi-weekly.
Only individuals who meet the qualifications will be invited for an interview. Interviews are tentatively scheduled to take place between July 11-19 2013. During the week of July 22, 2013, all candidates who were successful in the interview process will receive an email from the Government of Alberta which will contain information on how to complete the online computer skill assessments. Please ensure that you have indicated your email address on your resume.
This competition will be used to fill a number of current and future vacancies in various ministries throughout the Government of Alberta at the Administrative Support 3 level, including permanent, temporary, and wage opportunities. Final candidates may be required to undergo a security screening.
