The Health Workforce Division is looking for a team player to manage multiple activities related to the Research and Planning Unit. Within the Research and Planning Unit you will be responsible for gathering health workforce research from multiple sources and then analyzing, interpreting and presenting that information for use by both internal and external stakeholders You will work collaboratively with external stakeholders to negotiate and manage grant funding, develop policy recommendations, as well as work with cross-ministry partners to develop and implement initiatives that positively impact the health workforce.
As the successful candidate, you will be very detail- and process-oriented; have excellent analytical, organizational, and conflict management skills; and be able to communicate complex issues and processes effectively, both verbally and in writing. You will use exceptional critical thinking skills to research, analyze and advise internal and external contacts on programs, policies and emerging issues. Strong relationship building, self-organization, research and analysis/synthesis skills will also be critical to your success.
University graduation, preferably a Masters degree, in a related field (Health, Administration, Human Resource Management, and Policy) plus a minimum of four years of research experience in the health or public sector is required. An understanding of project management is an asset. A working understanding of the Alberta health system and legislation for health service providers is desirable.
$2,596.42 - $3,403.56 bi-weekly ($67,766 ? $88,832 annually)
This is a full-time temporary position for up to two years. Secondments will be considered. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower level. This competition may be used to fill a number of current and future vacancies in various ministries throughout the Government of Alberta.
