Region 6, Edmonton and Area Children and Family Services Authority (CFSA) is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled candidate to work in the rewarding and challenging field of children and youth services. We are looking for someone with an interest in this area to work with us in shaping positive futures for Albertan children.
This role requires a creative and energetic attitude in order to actively recruit, provide and screen foster care applications. You will complete foster home assessments, including face-to-face interviews with family members, contacting schools and assessing physical and safety features of the homes. You will support foster parents to maximize their ability to provide care for children through pre-service, skill and knowledge based training. Working closely with Intervention Case Workers you will provide ongoing assessment and evaluation of placements by matching the needs of the child to the skills and experience of the foster home as well as help the family understand each child's case plan.
You may also be called upon to conduct child/family engagement and collaboration, and/or conduct investigations and/or short term case management duties. You must be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with community partners. You must have flexibility in your schedule as this position may be required to participate in an on-call/after hour's rotation (evenings and weekends).
The successful candidate must have the ability to assess risk and family functioning, the interest and ability to work closely with community partners, well-developed organization and time management skills as well as excellent written documentation and verbal communication skills.

Bachelor of Social Work and at least one year related experience. The following equivalencies will be considered. Masters of Social Work and some related experience; OR related university degree and 3 years related experience; OR related diploma and 4 years related experience. Experience working with Aboriginal clients will be considered an asset.
$2,368.82 to $3,062.14 bi-weekly

- In accordance with the Health Professions Act, any successful applicant who possesses a BSW, MSW, or Diploma in Social Work from an Alberta College is required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
