Tourism, Parks and Recreation, Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, Kananaskis Country - If you enjoy working outdoors, working with your hands and working in one of the most beautiful place in the world, then this may be the position for you.
As our ideal candidate you must be proficient in the operation of medium to heavy transport equipment as related to the preventative and operational maintenance of cross-country ski trails and hiking trails in Kananaskis Country.
You will be responsible for the safe and proper use of allocated transport, grooming and earth moving equipment such as trailers, snow cats, tractors, backhoes, excavators, snowmobiles and ATV's. Duties will also include ongoing repair and proactive maintenance to mobile and small equipment.
In order to be successful in the role you must embody and demonstrate the core APS values of excellence, integrity, accountability and respect.
High school diploma as well as a minimum one year experience in the operation, preventative maintenance and routine servicing of medium to heavy transport equipment. Both a Class 3 and Class 5 driver's license is required for the positions, with preference given for a Class 1 driver's license.
$1,992.03 - $2,059.92 bi-weekly ($51,991 - $53,763 annually) .
Completion of a recognized training program and a valid Alberta Operator's License as related to the equipment being operated for the position assignment.
This is a permanent salaried 40-hour per week position that is typically scheduled Monday through Friday between April & November with evening, overnight and weekend shift work during grooming season ( starting November or December). Candidates must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License. Physically able to perform the manual duties found in the position assignment. You must be able to work in an outdoor environment throughout the year and be available to work night shifts during the winter months as required.
