Edmonton: The Affordable Housing and Portfolio Analysis branch has an opportunity available for an individual with a strong background in Architectural or Engineering Technology and Property/Land Development who is interested in joining the branch in the role of Project Analyst/Architectural Technologist.
Reporting to the Manager, Portfolio Analysis and Property Development, you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of business research, analysis and development to support interests in property related to real estate development.
You will apply your knowledge of project work from architectural/engineering research through to conceptual design work and engineering/architectural analysis of proposed or ongoing projects.
Major responsibilities of this position include:
Assisting in investigating structural, geotechnical and other aspects of properties
Reviewing drawings prepared by architects
Identifying facility issues and/or design problems
Analyzing the technical implications
Reviewing/Co-coordinating structural, electrical and mechanical designs
Establishing concept designs and drawings
Contributing to the Development of concepts for new construction or regeneration
Engineering/Architectural Research and Analysis of the housing properties
Success in this role requires extensive knowledge in research techniques relating to real estate and land development, expertise with 3D CAD and an interest in design and aesthetics.
A bachelor's degree in a related engineering or architectural field or a post secondary diploma in engineering or architectural technology and extensive related experience, including experience working with AutoCAD related software, are required. ASET certification or eligibility for certification is preferred. Working experience with Alberta Building Codes, Barrier Free Standards and Fire Codes are assets. Candidates will be asked to provide a portfolio of their work at the time of the interview.
$2,428.11 - 3,188.38 Bi-weekly ($63,373.67 - 83,216.72 annually)
