You will provide administrative assistance to the Foothills Area-Hinton office; this includes the Forestry, Lands and Wildlife staff. In this challenging and diverse career, you will have a variety of responsibilities; this includes reception, providing over the counter service to the public or information over the telephone. You will accurately receive, record and forward information, and data entry information for various programs; receive payments for various leases, permits or licenses; pick-up and distribute mail; order office furniture and supplies; book boardrooms and equipment rentals, and maintain inventories. Other duties include photocopying and filing.

INITIATIVE to work independently in making decisions where policies, procedures, applicable acts and regulations have been outlined.
COMMUNICATION to communicate in a courteous and friendly manner while making inquires to collect detailed information.
DECISION MAKING, PROBLEM SOLVING AND JUDGEMENT to provide program information, and knowing when to refer more complex questions to appropriate office staff.
TEAMWORK/WORKING WITH OTHERS to work professionally with staff member and to liaison with headquarters and area office, enforcement agencies and judicial agencies.
About Your Work Environment:
In this role, you will primarily work in an office setting. You will have regular and on-going contact with a large variety of clientele, providing information and regulatory requirements such as quotas, season dates and licences.
High School Diploma with 2 years of directly related office experience is required. Experience with Microsoft Office is required. Proficiency in IMAGIS will be considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$1,582.24 to $1,933.21 bi-weekly ($41,296 to $50,456 per annum)
This competition may be used to fill a number of current and future vacancies at an equivalent level in various ministries throughout the Government of Alberta.
It is recommended that applicants who have obtained educational credentials from outside of Canada and have not had them previously assessed, obtain an evaluation of their credentials from the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) -
It is recommended that applicants include the assessment certificate from IQAS or any other educational assessment service as part of their application.
