Tourism, Parks and Recreation, Edmonton - Tourism is a more than $7.8 billion industry in our province, employing nearly 139,000 people and attracting millions of visitors each year. We currently have a one year temporary/secondment opportunity for a senior professional to be a part of our results driven team.
Reporting to the Manager, Tourism Research and Evaluation Unit, the Senior Tourism Research Analyst is responsible for identifying and coordinating research requirements in response to stakeholder requests. Using your highly developed organizational and research skills, you will ensure that stakeholder research requirements are clearly understood and identify actions to meet those requirements. Specifically, you will develop terms of reference, issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs), set up tourism research contracts and manage these projects through completion. Furthermore, you will disseminate the information by sharing reports, developing briefings and preparing presentations for a diverse group of clients, including the Minister, Travel Alberta and other tourism industry groups or associations.
To be successful in this position, you will be a highly motivated strategic thinker and have strong organizational, written and verbal skills with experience in project management. You will also be familiar with the Government of Alberta RFP and procurement process for contracted services. A sound knowledge of Alberta's tourism framework, industry stakeholders, products and programs are also required.
A university degree in a related field, such as management or commerce, is required, as is a minimum of four years of related experience. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the Tourism and/or Public Service sectors. Applicant resumes should demonstrate previous experience with primary and secondary market research.
$2,596.42 - $3,403.56 bi-weekly ($67,766 - $88,832 annually).
This competition may be used to fill future vacancies. Secondments will be considered. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
