The Financial Operations and Procurement Branch is searching for a Procurement Coordinator with a results-oriented attitude.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will provide comprehensive services relating to the procurement of a diverse range of goods and services for the Department. Contracts vary in complexity - from uniforms, security equipment, radio equipment, information technology equipment/services, general service and management consulting agreements.
As a resource for the procurement unit, you will collaborate with Department representatives to ensure their procurement requirements are clearly identified, procurement options are explored, appropriate procurement methods are selected and approvals obtained, and associated contracts are appropriately executed. In addition you must be able to facilitate the development of clear, detailed, and well defined solicitation documents such as RFIs, RFPs and RFQs on behalf of clients for circulation to vendors.
You will also respond to vendors regarding the tendering process, support preparation of recommendations for contract awards, anticipate problems, recommend solutions to management, provide training and advise to internal clients within the department.
To meet the demands of this challenging position, you must have a track record of being a self-starter, and have the ability to work independently and in a team environment to respond to the needs of a diverse client base. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), prioritization, attention to detail, problem solving, and negotiating skills are assets to you in this role.
A degree in a related field, such as Bachelor of Business Administration is required. Related experience in public sector procurement is preferred. Professional Purchasing/Material Management Certification or demonstrated commitment to obtaining certification or a professional procurement education is an asset. Experience with IMAGIS and ARTS is beneficial. Experience with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,113.48- $2,772.38 bi-weekly pay
Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a security screening. This competition may be used to fill current and future vacancies across the Government of Alberta. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
