As a Child Intervention Assessor, you will utilize your strong knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act, and Policies, Children Involved in Prostitution Act, Child and Family Services protocols and Regional Directives, to complete assessments and make recommendations, which will impact the safety and protection of children and families.
Employing strong interviewing skills, you will collect information in order to determine the nature and the degree of risk to a child. Therefore, great assessment skills are also essential since you will also be performing multilevel assessments, including initial and extended assessments. Knowledge of and experience working with the Aboriginal culture is an asset. Strong communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills are required in your intervention and counseling of clients. Effective oral and written communication skills are required in the development of service plans and presentation of documents for court. Faced with travel, stressful situations and irregular hours, you will need to be highly motivated and self-directed with strong time management and organizational skills.
Bachelor of Social Work and related child protection experience is required. Delegation under the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act is preferred. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,474.49 - $3,198.43 Biweekly

-In accordance with the Health Professions Act, any successful applicant who possesses a BSW, MSW, or Diploma in Social Work from an Alberta College is required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers.

-Final candidates will be asked to undergo security screening.
-This role requires that you have a valid Driver's License and access to transportation.
