Justice and Solicitor General
Edmonton - We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work in a busy administrative office. To be successful in this role, you must utilize your excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills when performing administrative functions for the Justices and senior judicial staff of the Court of Queen's Bench.
This is a new and unique position with the Court. Your primary role will be to provide administrative support for Court Committees and the Executive Counsel/Director and Deputy CEO, and you will also back-up in the Judicial Administration pool.
You will prepare correspondence, reports and presentations; arrange meetings, appointments and travel; attend meetings and conference calls and take Minutes; establish and maintain filing systems; screen incoming telephone calls and mail; establish and maintain a bring forward system for correspondence, files and projects; assist with personnel matters for judicial staff; format and proofread judgments from electronic, hard copy or dictation and perform other related administrative tasks as assigned.
A high degree of independence, accuracy, confidentiality, tact and diplomacy is required.
Excellent keyboarding and grammar skills, attention to detail and knowledge of the court system and process are required. Proficiency with Word and/or WordPerfect, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and GroupWise (or a similar e-mail system) is essential.
Two year diploma in a related field (such as Legal Assistant Diploma), plus a minimum of one year progressively responsible related administrative or senior legal secretarial experience.
Equivalencies will be considered.
$1868.66 - 2297.57 Bi-weekly
This competition will be used to fill both permanent and temporary positions for current and future vacancies.
Candidate with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a Security Screening.
