If so, we have the perfect job for you providing safe, healthy, and secure programs for children and youth.
The primary challenge for a high-quality Child and Youth Care Counsellor is to achieve short-term goals and objectives during the limited period of time that children and youth live in the residential setting of the Youth Assessment Centre located in High Prairie, Alberta.

The best thing about this position - the positive influence you can have on residents through appropriate role-modeling and leadership. By nature of this position and your strength of character, you will maintain trust and honesty with residents, colleagues and the Region. The downside about the position - having to work days/evenings shift (although you will receive an additional $2.25 per hour for shift differential and weekend premiums.
We are looking for change agents who have a diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care. Experience working with youth in a residential setting or working with Aboriginal children would be an asset. Preference may be given to those applicants who have experience working with Aboriginal communities. Knowledge of Aboriginal language and culture is considered an asset. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower level.
$2,012.59 - $2,579.68 Bi-Weekly
Shift and weekend work are required.
Regular travel is a requirement of this position therefore; the successful candidate must hold a valid Alberta driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle. Final candidate for this position will be asked to undergo an academic and Intervention Record Check. The successful applicant for this position will be asked to provide a suitable security check. In order to expedite this process please be prepared to present a Criminal Records Check that includes a Vulnerable Sector screening check at the time of the interview.
