Under the general direction of the Audit Supervisor and working closely with management and staff, you will be accountable for planning, conducting and reporting on internal audits for the department of Human Services. Utilizing your excellent analytical skills, you will perform audits and examine, evaluate and report on all aspects of internal control. You will also recommend value-added continuous improvements to ensure that programs are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are critical to successfully fulfilling the objectives and functions of this position. Your ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees throughout the department will be key in influencing them to adopt best practices. Outcomes-focused, you will make sound decisions, plan and organize your own work and deliver audit findings with tact and diplomacy.
As our Internal Audit team work requirements are spread out across the province, your ability and willingness to travel when necessary is required. It is essential that you are able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Your openness to learning new things and adapting to a constantly changing working environment while helping staff deliver efficient and effective services to Albertans will serve you well in this role.
University graduation in a related field and eligibility for enrollment in a recognized accounting program leading to an accounting designation such as CA, CMA or CGA plus at least two years of audit experience. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Experience working with government policies, procedures and regulations is an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,263.14 - $3,108.05 bi-weekly. ($59,067 to $81,120 annually)

2. A valid Alberta driver's license is required.
