Are you looking for an opportunity to utilize your strong psychological and clinical assessment skills working within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals focused on making a difference in the lives of children, youth and families? The Yellowhead Youth Centre (YYC) is a residential treatment program for adolescents experiencing a wide range of emotional, psychological, mental health and behavioral issues.
In the role of a Psychologist, you will be responsible for working closely with Child and Youth Care staff in the development and implementation of individual treatment plans and ensuring that proper monitoring mechanisms are in place. Drawing upon your strong assessment abilities, you will conduct psychological assessments which involves interviews with youths to determine their mental state and making provisional diagnosis, where applicable, with recommendations for further assessment and or treatment. You will also be involved with identifying strategies and using a variety of therapeutic approaches that will be used in individual, group and family therapy.
To be successful in this position you must demonstrate excellent communication and assessment skills. Your ability to build strong working relationships with diverse professionals within the multi-disciplinary team will be key to your success. Knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act and programs of the Yellowhead Youth Centre is highly beneficial.
A Master's Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology with at least 3 years of experience working in a clinical setting with children and families is required. A Doctorate in Psychology is preferred. Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologist's Association is essential and candidates must be in good standing. Experience working with clients who have mental health concerns and/or clients who are victims or perpetrators of sexual abuse, is preferred.
$3,126.22- $4,039.51 Bi-weekly
