Justice and Solicitor General
Alberta Justice and Solicitor General, Edmonton - Our Business Services & Strategic Support Branch is looking for a detail-oriented individual with proven administrative skills to join their team.
In addition to functioning as the Office Coordinator to the Executive Director, this position provides office management support for the Branch. You will coordinate the flow of information for the Executive Director's office, manage calendars and respond to requests and concerns in a proactive and comprehensive manner. You will ensure the effective and efficient management of day-to-day administrative activities, financial processes, personnel and payroll support and records management. You will be responsible for word processing of confidential and sensitive information, action requests, and briefing notes, processing of expense claims, identifying and addressing telecommunications and IT needs. You will also back-up the assistant to the ADM office.
The ability to successfully communicate with a variety of stakeholders including executive level and senior officials will contribute to your success in this role. Your professional demeanor and ability to use appropriate discretion, working in a team environment coupled with your ability to work independently is essential. Reliability and punctuality are paramount to this position.
The position entails:
- Providing administrative expertise and assistance to the Business Services & Strategic Support Branch
- Maintaining a file and record management system
- Budget and forecasting support
- ARTS tracking and coordination
- Drafting and preparing correspondence, meeting materials, and other materials
- Calendar scheduling and maintenance
- Responding to staff inquiries and reception back-up
The ideal candidate will have:

- A proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- An excellent understanding of financial policies, budget forecasting, and records management
High School Diploma plus several years of progressively responsible office administrative experience. Related post-secondary education and executive support experience/role in financial environment is preferred. Experience working with Microsoft Office is essential. Government experience along with knowledge of government programs (IMAGIS, EPS, ARTS, Exclaim) is preferred. Equivalencies considered.
$1,724.26 to $2,111.09 bi-weekly.
