The picturesque setting of McCullough Centre (former Gunn Centre) is a unique 24 hour residential care facility providing home and community transition services to its residents, who are homeless adult men struggling with multi-faceted mental health, active addiction and often conflict issues.
McCullough Centre is located about 65 km northwest of Edmonton, and has provided services for disadvantaged men since 1941. The McCullough Centre is a drug & alcohol-free living environment and offers temporary accommodation and support services for men who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, and currently unable to provide for their basic needs without assistance. McCullough Centre's goal is to help men re-establish their sobriety to enable them to assume their rightful place in society within various communities and cultures.
As a Residential Key Worker, you will play an integral role in promoting long-term independence and societal reintegration of residents. Your primary role is focusing on homeless adult men struggling with multi-faceted and often conflicting issues, including addictions, mental health issues or brain injury. Highlights of your duties and responsibilities include: constructively providing guidance and direction to the clients, participation in case management, provision of care, participating in medication delivery and treatment, program development and recommendations, resolution of conflict/dispute, support and promote educational and literacy programming.
High School Diploma plus related care experience is required. Previous work experience in the care of persons with addictions, psychiatric, or mental disabilities as well as working with homeless individuals is preferred. Related experience working with similar client group is an asset. Post-secondary education will be considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$20.20 - $23.22 per hour
- Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a security screening.
- Shift work is required for this position and we are looking for candidates with flexibility in terms of the hours worked - primary weekends and stat holidays
- As there is no public transportation to McCullough Centre, access to your own transportation is required.
