Within the Economics and Fiscal Policy Division of Alberta Treasury Board and Finance, the Fiscal Planning and Analysis Branch conducts fiscal and policy analysis on major expenditure and revenue trends, as well as on relevant policy developments with significant long-term fiscal implications for the province.

This position with the Fiscal Planning and Analysis Branch provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in applying your knowledge of economics and quantitative methods, as well as in applying and further developing your policy analysis skills. As part of a small supportive team, your duties will be to prepare long-term fiscal forecasts and scenarios for Alberta, and to conduct research and analysis on major trends and policy developments that could affect Alberta's long-term fiscal position.
The work environment requires a self-motivated individual with superior economic analysis skills and a strict eye for detail. If you enjoy working with economic and financial data and have a strong affinity for policy analysis, this position may be ideal for you.
A University degree in economics or related discipline. Masters degree in economics preferred. Some knowledge of accounting would be considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$1,839.49 to $2,714.05 bi-weekly
Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies. Interviews are scheduled to begin approximately the week of May 27 - 31, 2013.
