Are you looking for the opportunity to work with a team to assist with specialized food preparation within a 24 hour Residential Care facility for children with disabilities?
As a Kitchen Staff (Facility Support Worker 2) you are part of an environment where you are responsible for: food preparation, such as specialized formulas; cleaning, sanitizing and ordering of supplies for the kitchen and formula room; ensuring safety and cleanliness of the work area. The position will also cover some shifts in housekeeping area; assisting the child care staff in establishing standards pertaining to cleanliness, chores, laundry and other client living skills; the instruction of basic life skills to clients, supervise clients and function as a role model for them.
To be successful in this position, you must demonstrate the ability to prepare appropriate meals and following the specialized dietary instructions for each client. You must have good communication and observation skills when working with the team. You must also demonstrate the ability to follow oral and written instructions as well as work independently with little supervision. Skill in the use and care of household equipment and materials is essential.
At least 1 year related experience in food service including food preparation and sanitation procedures are required. Have successfully pass on the Home Study Course in Food Safety. Knowledge of health hazards in food services and necessary precautionary measures is essential. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Standard First Aid Certificate is an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$1,054.71 to $1,215.73 Bi-Weekly.
