The ministry of Human Services employs over 30% of the Alberta Public Service, throughout over 85 communities, Human Resources plays as integral part in supporting this change. Human Resources is looking for talented and passionate HR professional who will strive to ensure we provide the best advice, solutions and guidance on a variety of HR related issues while making a difference in the way we do business.
As a Human Resource Consultant with Human Services, you will:
- Provide HR Consultation to an assigned client group
- Work closely with line managers and supervisors to problem solve issues
- Deliver a staffing service that supports attracting and retaining a qualified and suitable
- Be responsible for Job Classification, ensuring positions in the ministry, both management
and non-management are assessed and evaluated in a fair and equitable manner using a
modified Hay Plan
- Provide Employee Relations support, participate in the grievance process and work closely
with the union
- Work as a business partner providing strategic advice
- Work on special projects to support the HR programs of Human Services
You will bring a willingness to learn and share experiences and a strong commitment to teamwork
University graduation in Human Resource Management or a related field is required, along with a minimum of two years HR Generalist or related HR consulting experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in employee relations within a unionized setting, as well as experience working in the public sector, Government of Alberta preferred. Peoplesoft/IMAGIS experience is considered an asset.
$33.40-$45.80 per hour
We have a temporary opportunity available to December 2013. Access to transportation is required as travel will be a feature of this role.
