If so, we currently have wage, on-call opportunities for you providing a safe, healthy and secure programs for children and youth.
The primary challenge for a high-quality Child and Youth Care Counsellor -- is to achieve short-term goals and objectives during the limited period of time that that children and youth live in the residential setting of the Youth Assessment Centre located in High Prairie, AB.

The best thing about this role - the positive influence you can have on residents through appropriate role-modeling and leadership. By nature of this position and your strength of character, you will maintain trust and honesty with residents, colleagues and the Region. The downside about the role - having to work a days/evenings shift (although you will receive an additional $2.25 per hour for shift differential and weekend premiums).
We are looking for change agents who have a diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care. Experience working with youth in a residential setting or working with Aboriginal children would be an asset. Successful candidates must be prepared to complete and maintain training in Standard First Aid, ASIST, food handling, non-crisis intervention and Aboriginal awareness training. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification level and salary. Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a security, academic and Intervention Record Check. Please note, successful applicants for this position will be asked to provide a suitable security check. In order to expedite this process please be prepared to present a Criminal Records Check that includes a Vulnerable Sector screening check at the time of the interview. You must have a valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle. Preference may be given to those applicants who have experience working with Aboriginal communities. Knowledge of Aboriginal language and culture is considered an asset.
$25.96 - $33.28 per hour
This competition will serve to hire to multiple wage employees. It will also be used to establish an eligibility list to fill future permanent or temporary vacancies.
