Justice and Solicitor General
Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Edmonton - We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work in a busy administrative office. To be successful in this role, you must utilize your excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills when performing administrative functions for the Justices and senior judicial staff of the Court of Queen's Bench.
In this position, you will provide administrative support for Court Committees and the Executive Legal Counsel, and back-up in the Judicial Administration pool. You will prepare correspondence, reports and presentations; arrange meetings, appointments and travel; attend meetings and conference calls and take meeting minutes; establish and maintain filing systems; screen incoming telephone calls and mail; establish and maintain a bring forward system for correspondence, files and projects; assist with personnel matters for judicial staff; format and proofread judgments from electronic, hard copy or dictation and perform other related administrative tasks as assigned.
You will assist with oral and written French communications for committees and individual members of the judiciary.
A high degree of independence, accuracy, confidentiality, tact and diplomacy is required. Excellent keyboarding and grammar skills, attention to detail and knowledge of the court system and process are also required. Proficiency with Word and/or WordPerfect, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and GroupWise (or a similar e-mail system) is essential.
Two year diploma in a related field plus one year progressively responsible related experience. Proficiency with WordPerfect and/or Word, Excel, Internet and GroupWise (or a similar e-mail system) is essential. Experience using the dictaphone is required. Fluency in French and English is required. Familiarity with the legal environment is considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$1,868.66 to $2,297.57 bi-weekly
The selected applicants will have to pass a test in French. This is a permanent full time position. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.
